How the idea was born
The Power Cube power strip didn’t simply pop up in the minds of Allocacoc‘s founders. This is not Eureka’s moment. Yixia and Arthur just graduated as industrial designers in 2010. With enthusiasm for industrial design, they strive to design products with improved designs that ultimately improve people’s lives. During this brainstorming of new ideas, they started to notice their continued frustration, with the bulky plugs blocking each other when using conventional power strips. The socket in the power strip can never be fully utilized. So they started thinking about ways to solve this problem.
As industrial designers, Yixia and Arthur hope to develop a more ergonomic power board. Increasing the spacing between the sockets will solve the plug problem, but why must the power strip be rectangular? Why not turn it into a cube? Yixia and Arthur believe that the cube-shaped power strip not only solves the main problem of plugging plugs but also is more compact and beautiful.
For designers, designing such a small and compact cube can use the core of all sockets at the same time has been a challenge. But soon they encountered the next challenge: how to add USB components to a power cube power strip?
Later, the power cube power strip, which can be charged through the USB port, gradually increased in the market. Until today, you can see it in most devices on the market, and you can charge the device directly from the USB port of the power cube power strip.
The core design has been retained for many years, and its additional parts have been redesigned again and again to increase efficiency, increase functionality, and produce more plug types suitable for use in different countries.
